The 1983 release from Iron Maiden, Piece of Mind showed a much better production than Number of the Beast, but lyricaly and musicaly it stayed in the same vein. The songs still revolved around themes picked up from movies and books, and Iron Maiden covers a wide range of subjects from war(The Trooper) to ancient history(Quest For Fire) to old world war II movies(Where Eagles Dare). Sometimes one get the feeling that the frequency of Iron Maiden albums, depend on how much time Steve Harris can spend going to the movies or reading books. The album is great though, containing everything that metal from the 80's are supposed to, fast chords, fast singing and ALOT of guitar solos. If you liked Number of the Beast, I would call it a safe be that you will enjoy Piece of Mind as well.
