If I give "Piece of Mind" and "Number of the Beast" 5 stars each. If I give "Powerslave" and "Killers" 4 stars. If I give "Somewhere in Time" and "7th Son of a 7th Son" 3 stars. I don't see how it is possible to give this album more than 2 stars. As a matter of fact it is borderline on 1 star. I have all the Maiden albums/discs and this one is easy to describe. It is tired, dull, and for the most part uninspired. Kind of like when a band has a contract to fulfill and they need to pump something out. The song "Tailgunner" is okay. "Run Silent Run Deep" is probably the best tune on the album. "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter" is downright silly... but I like it... the words are stupid, but the chords are catchy. Essential - hardly. If you are a true Iron Maiden fan, you might own this one. If you want some of their classic stuff, try "Piece of Mind", "Number of the Beast" or "Powerslave". Let the buyer beware - you have been warned.
