This alubum was my college years sound track. It represented the peak of my gradual interest in rock and hard rock. and it's still the apex of heavey metal. "Running free" was our anthum. Aces high and "2Min." are the hardest rock songs ever (the hardest..I don't mean just making noise). "The Rime of the Anciant Mariner" is a leagendary epic. And the bass guitar cords at the begining of "Wrath Child" is among the sound that are most incraved in my mind. Steve Harris is - along with John Entwistle and maybe slightly ahead of John Paul Jones and Sting- is among best who ever held a bass guitar. And now, almost 13 years later, I'm a little older and tamer...I still think that there is no band that is close to Maiden in the metal genre....I still listn to this album with nostalgic feeling..I also still enjoy it...a lot.
