So few compilation albums choose the good songs, and with a catalogue as extensive as Maiden's it is a very difficult task. They have done an excellent job here. The best, most high energy songs from their first five albums are all here as performed during their '84-'85 "World Slavery Tour." Albums like this are supposed to have 2 functions: 1.A best of compilition to hook new fans into their music (for some reason i still prefer to start listening to any band by gettting a normal, studio album, and i recommend number of the beast for potential MaidenHeads). 2.To showcase the musicians energy live, with songs that fit for the big, arena feel (and they have done one hell of a job with that,) which by the way, acomplishes a third feet for Maiden: their frist two albums featured Paul d'anno on vocals, now they have bruce dickinson, so: 3:Bruce upstages Paul with his own old songs...the comparison is like Lucionno Pavorotti vs. a man with lung cancer. Bruce should get his lungs insured. Best songs: all of them.
