Ok, as anybody will tell you this is a Maiden throwback album, and there in lies the problem. They want to keep the sound the same for all the fans that know and love the band, and for a very good reason: Maiden Rocks. This album sadly does not rock as much as it could have for the very simple reason that the songwriting is average, not bad but nothing really to brag about and because they have three guitarists but sound like they only have one. The solos sound horribly flat and not anything that is really amazing. With three guitars they could be playing two solos at the same time kinda like a dueling solo and also have one play rythym guitar. However they do not do this and the guitar work sounds pretty flat in every track with the notable exception of the title track which in my opinion is the hands down best track on the album. Overall this album sounds just like Iron Maiden is meant to sound but lacks the excitement that usually surrounds them and the ingenuity that somehow left them. (Note it was still there for Brave New World)
