This is a decent album by Maiden, don't get me wrong, but it just seems to be lacking something. The songwriting is okay, but I mean, do we really want to hear the chorus repeated 5 times every 3 times they sing it? It can be a little nerve wrecking at times when you think the tracks going to end but realize that the chorus is going to repeat itself a countless number of times. This album also lacks what Killers and The Number of the Beast had, Dance of Death is lacking the power to lure you into the songs, the way the music sounds is just there, nothing more or less, and it seems like they ran out of ideas, their music doesn't sound origional at all. They could have borrowed a few melodies from The Number of the Beast and Powerslave and then slap on a few other notes to not make it sound similiar, and I'm not trying to say that Dance of Death doesn't have good songs, I'm just saying the music is just plain and flat, kinda like a soda pop, the taste is still there, but it's lacking the carbonation it once had.
