No one does "melodic" better than Maiden. Even now I still can't get "Dance of Death" and "Passiondale" (sp?) out of my head. Great tunes. Many of the other songs are very very good too. What's interesting about Maiden overall is that I always get a sense that I'm listening to songs that were written hundreds of years ago or decades ago, like old Medieval folk tunes about the Devil or Icarus or WW1 or WW2 songs like Passendale or Aces High, that were re-vamped into metal or rock versions in our modern age. It's really weird and interesting. I can't even begin to put in words how talented this band is from the technical songwriting viewpoint.p.s. the chorus part on Montisgur f*ckin' kicks!
