English hard rock legends Iron Maiden released twelfth studio album Brave New World in May of 2000. I found out a year earlier that both Adrian Smith and Bruce Dickinson had returned to the band and expanded Maiden into a six piece and therefore, Iron Maiden's classic lineup, plus Janick Gers, returning. As a result, I had high expectations for Brave New World. So I bought the disc on street date on my way to college graduation rehearsal. After I first listened to this disc, Brave New World lived up to expectations and then some. From the opening The Wickerman to classics like Dream of Mirrors, the title track and Ghost of the Navigator, Maiden were back! Those aforementioned tracks are my favorite tracks on the album by the way. I saw them on the tour in support of Brave New World and they sold the venue I went to out. This album proved that Iron Maiden was back and they sure meant business.
