A fine collection of magnificent songs

This album must be rated as a collection of hit songs, since no single studio album by any metal band can even get close to this album in terms of quality. But as a selection of best songs, and especially Iron Maiden songs, I must say it could have been made better. But still, it features 16 excellent tracks, perhaps your favorite tracks are missing, but you can't put everyones favourite Maiden songs into a single CD, and not into three or four CDs either. Most masterpieces are included here including The Number Of The Beast, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run To The Hills, The Trooper, Aces High, 2 Minutes To Midnight, The Wasted Years, The Evil That Men Do, Fear Of The Dark, and others as well. But there are a few tracks most of us would agree to change with others: Can I Play With Madness is a good song, but Iron Maiden can offer much better songs from their resume, and the same goes with Be Quick Or Be Dead and Bring Your Daughter... (perhaps they wanted a song from each album?). The new song, Virus, makes this a must have for serious fans, as this is certainly a strong track, which was not released on any album before (although it is now released as a single). I would like to see one or two more tracks off Somewhere In Time and Piece of Mind, and what about Killers? There is not a single song off the album, and that's a pity.

But overall, this is a strong collection of excellent songs, since all of them are excellent after all, and a must have for any metal fan who doesn't own at least two or three Maiden albums.

If you've got all other Iron Maiden albums, it is still worth having for the new song, Virus. The artwork is beautiful as well.
