In Flames's Reviews

Whoracle

Perhaps the best album... EVER

This album is so amazing. Though In Flames became a nu-metal band recently (tragic), this album is my favorite album from any band, ever. Here is a list of the tracks and a review on each. I love Ander's vocals because they are metal vocals but his voice is high and it blends amazingly to create a unique, perfect voice. This is their last album with Glenn Ljungstrom and Johan Larsson. The band changed greatly after these members left, but this album shows the amazing things accomplished with them.

Jotun (10/10) - A great start to the album, this song is flawless and shows their amazing skill. His vocals in this song are perfect, starting with him talking to him doing his amazing metal voice.

Food For The Gods (10/10) - Flawless, no complaints about this song, the tempo of the song is perfect, it is slow but still amazing In Flames.

Gyroscope (10/10) - This song has amazing melody and is beautiful while being amazingly heavy. It is featured on their Black Ash-Inheritance MCD.

Dialogue With The Stars (10/10) - I could not ask for more from this song. It is one of In Flames's amazing instrumental songs. They have more instrumental songs then nearly any other band, but the songs are not boring at all like regular instrumental songs.

The Hive (10/10) - The second best song on the album is The Hive. It is flawless and the guitar solo in the middle is just amazing. The vocals of this song go from deep to Anders's trademark screech.

Jester Script Transfigured (9/10) - This is the lightest song on the album. The vocals in the beginning are rather boring and annoying, that is the only flaw to this song.

Morphing Into Primal (10/10) - This is a savage song. Aptly named, Morphing Into Primal. It shows their death metal roots displayed mainly in their albums Subterranean and Lunar Strain.

Worlds Within The Margin (10/10) - I love this song. It shows the extent of Anders's voice and some of the best playing by the members.

Episode 666 (11/10) - This is the best song on this album and the best In Flames song ever. It is flawless and has amazing riffs. This is the first In Flames song I ever heard, after this I was hooked. This song is the best melodic death metal song ever. It is perfection.

Everything Counts (8/10) - This song, though it is O.K. gets to be annoying. The playing is very good, though repetetive. The vocals are good, but monotonous. The chorus and pre-chorus is also extremely annoying. I nearly vomited when I heard him say "Everything counts, in large amounts". It is the only flaw on this album besides Whoracle.

Whoracle (8/10) - Not one of In Flames's amazing instrumentals. It carries on the exact same guitar and drum pattern throught the whole song. The backing vocals are quite annoying too.

Clad In Shadows (Bonus Track) (10/10) - This is a song from their Lunar Strain. It is amazingly heavy and cuts through you like a blade. It shows their roots because, well, it is their roots.

Over all, this album gets a 10/10. Despite some of the flawed songs, it still rocks hard.
