This cd is a must have for any, i mean any metal fan. i bought this cd and it blew me away, i had never heard such beautiful compostions in my life. the first time i heard it almost every song made me cry or feel like crying - that's how good it is. i can't stress that enough on paper but that is just how it is. the guitars are perfect in harmony with each other (the deep distortion guitar and the medival europeish guitar). the vocalist suprized me at first because of the contrast between the harsh vocals and the beuatiful melody, but if you listen to it enough you get used to it, i for one not only got used to it but began to apreciate it and soon after i wouldn't have it any other way. some of my friends at school hate the vocalist. one of my best friends says he loves 'em but he thinks they are the cheezest band in tha world. whatever man, they are by far one of my favorites. so i guess what i'm trying to say is becareful 'cuase you might hate this music, but then again if you don't hate it, YOU'LL LOVE IT!! i have incredible respect for this band, every member, and what they do. after i started listening to them my head exploded into an entirely different music than what i had been listening to all my life(death and thrash metal). In Flames opened my eyes to melodic medal and i've been going crazy over it ever since. i suggest you buy this album before you buy Whoracle or Colony or any of their other great albums. Jester's Race is by far the band's jewel not to say that any of their others are bad, but definately get this first, especially if you are introducing yourself to the band or melodic medal in general.
