Well, as a long time In Flames fan, I too was initially put off by this record, after I accepted the change I found this record to be very enjoyable and far from "sellout". This is by far the biggest departure that In Flames have ever taken in their history... a large evolution. They most definitley have expanded their sound and added elements of the dreaded 'nu-metal' label. It's too bad that so many are too quick to slap that dirty label on this bands these days. The term 'nu-metal' needs to die a painful death. Listen folks, just because a band evolves does not make them LINKIN PARK.My personal favorite In Flames record is probably The Jester Race, but this release absolutley deserves a place in any In Flames fan collection. Another review pointed how this CD was a bridge between nu-metal and true extreme metal, and I agree it is. Its CD's like this that will attract more people to extreme music that otherwise may have not found a reason to. This is a GOOD thing. Extreme music is an artform that is entirely under appreciated. R2R is heavy, brutal, melodic. All the songs on the record are very different, giving you many sides of the band instead of the same 10 songs. This is one of those CDs you can listen to all the way through and not get bored. I'm happy to see In Flames getting some well deserved attention lately. If you have not seen them live DO ANYTHING you need to do to see them. They are INCREDIBLE live. If you have a nu-metal friend who has yet to branch out into more creative, interesting, and heavy music this is a good record to give them to open their eyes (along with Killswitch Engage). "Trigger" has to be one of the catchiest metal songs ever.
