Why is it that when bands do something different, their fans have to go through the roof? And no one can compare In Flames with Metallica. The sound isn't that different. The production is a little more slick and streamlined than the previous albums, but that is it. Lunar Strain is the only album in their catalogue that sounds COMPLETELY different than anything else. Anyway, this is a very good album. It has some awesome guitar work, heavy sound, great melodies and some amazing drumming. There are a few not so good songs though such as Dawn of A New Day and the other ballad which is even worse. So, no it isn't perfect, but it still has great songs on it. I would recommend this to anyone who likes the Swedish death/thrash sound like At the Gates, The Crown, Dark Tranquility or Nightrage.
