In Flames's Reviews

Reroute To Remain

What a change!

Eventhough we all love the fast, insane, heavy, sick, screaming In Flames, this is quite a nice change.
It has gone more melodic than metal. The vocals are still Death Metal, growling and screaming eventhough we see plenty of clean vocals here, specially for choruses.
The guitars have gone more choppy than driving, yet, there are still some solos and some good riffs to keep it in the Metal and not Nu-metal cathegory.
Thank god we got the drums and bass to reminds us all that we are listening to a metal band, since they are thrash-speed-metal-infected. Eventhough it scares me a little to think that In Flames might go way too melodic, or even soft/
This record as for a whole is a pretty good album, with good songs, catchy yet heavy, headbanging and sing along all together, like a "Countdown to Extintion" was for Megadeth, this is "reroute to remain" for In Flames.
I can't go on Highlights or lowlights, since the album is pretty consistent, very melodic, easy for new fans to get into.
Sell out? maybe, but that doesn't matter the product is still worth the money at it's fullest.
