I have been listening to In Flames for quite a long time. The first CD I ever heard was Colony and I was blown away after the first song, not to mention that every song on that album is amazing. I picked up Reroute to Remain the day it came out and I have to say it carries with it the same consistency that Colony did. Every song gives you that same driving feeling that only In Flames can stir deep inside of you. This album is absolutely amazing. I do not care about what anyone else says about "nu-metal" or this album being too melodic. Every CD they have released has had melodic riffs in it and they use the mix of melody and metal to create a truly unique sound. This album is right up there with their best. Trigger is an amazing track with quick guitar riffs, a very emotion-driving chorus, and a great mix of vocals. One of the best is Free Fall, with what I must say is one of the creepiest beginnings of any song I have ever heard, which only adds to the monsterous and crushing sound that embodies the rest of the song. The lyrics in each song are some of the best In Flames have ever written to go along with the themes of each song. They pull you into the music and rev your mind to a new level. Along with Cloud Connected, Transparent, Minus, and Dismiss the Cynics this album has one powerful song after another. Pure headbanging, heavy metal!!! I truly recommend this album to anyone who loves heavy, fast, skillful, and loud music. In Flames have created another masterpiece.
