My first introduction to Melodic Death was with Opeth, and they are one of the best bands out there. After listening to opeth and Children of Bodom I thought I should graduate to In Flames. I love them. I bought up all of their earlier stuff and I was all pumped for Clayman. When it came in the mail (because I couldn't find it anywhere but here) I immediately put it in my player. I was disappointed. This is a great cd and I recommend it to anyone I know, but it just doesn't stick out like the other ones. Sure the guitar work is more technical and the band has definitely matured, but I just don't like it as much as I do Whoracle, Colony, or The Jester Race. BUy those first and you'll fall in love with this band.
