Okay, so at first I didn't even want to hear this (Mr. Barlow being one of my favorite vocalists, ever). I finally got my nerve up and gave it a shot....and I continued with my belief that Ripper doesn't hold a candle to Matt. And then his voice started to grow on me....mainly because I heard Gettysburg. It's quite possibly the greatest song ever written and Ripper does an AWESOME job on it, I highly doubt Matt could have done better. To attempt to describe that song in words would only devalue it. Declaration Day and Attila are the other highlights, both are very, very good. Anyway, I gave the album 4 stars because there were more songs than usual that I "just couldn't get in to." Hollow Man is one of IE's less-good ballads, and Tim's insistance upon doing his 'helium shreik' through The Reckoning makes it less than an excellent song. The rest of the songs are good, IMO, but not "great."
