I have been a huge fan of Iced Earth for a long time, each cd is better than the next, and its no different with Glorious Burden, except for one thing TIM OWENS, dont get me wrong he was great with Judas Priest but he is not " ICED EARTH " I feel as though I'm listening to Priest with I.E. music, Tims high pitched Halford voice just doesnt do it for me on an Iced Earth cd, and he certanly can not sing the ballads the way Matt could, where you could feel it in his voice and the way he sings, songs like "Watching over me, I died for You, Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, or Melancholy", where you could feel the hurt or anguish in his voice. The highlight of the cd to me was high water mark, where Jon actually sings a bit part in it, since Matt did not sing on this album Jon would have been better of doing the volcals himself. Now with that said, Jon did a fantastic job with the music and lyrical writing," Atilla,Waterloo, and Valley forge" are awesome songs even with Tim singing,"When the Eagle Cries" is a great song but Tim doesnt bring out the feelings that I'm sure Jon was looking for, hes just not a ballad singer. If you are to buy this cd buy it for the Gettysburg cd itself for it is increadable you can actually imagine yourself there watching whats happing. All in all the cd good but without owens it would be great.
