Ahh Iced Earth. Amazing that the US best metal band gets no respect at home. But ofcourse this is the home of limp bizkit, staind, creed and the rest of the awful tiring repetitive no talent nu metral band. Ohh who we save us. Well it is no secret that Iced Earth is the best american band since metallica (pre-black album metallica ofcourse), but what makes them unique is that they combine the speed and power of metallica with the melody and singing of iron maiden. Me being more of a maiden fan prefers the softer side of iced earth, but heck for the head bangers, iced earth has you well covered. What you get is a sort of fusion of the irons and metallica. Dark Saga is a cocnept album based on Todd Macfarlane's Spawn comicbook ( a good comic, i might add). Anyway, after making above averge albums, iced earth has finally taken the guantlet and risen up. This is possibly their second best album after Something Wicked. 1. Dark Saga 7/10. Hard intro 2. I Died for You 9/10. One of their best songs ever. short but incredible. 3. Violate 7/10. Another loud one. sounds like old metallica. 4. The Hunter. 9/10. Sweet fast and fruious and melodic too. 5. The Last Laugh.7/10. another hard, hard song. 6. Depths of Hell.8/10. Hard but fast 7. Vengeance Is Mine. 9/10. this begins a final stretch of the most amaing songs you will this side of something wicked. Great song 8. The Suffering Scarred. 9/10. part one of the trilogy. hauntingly beautful. 9. Slave to the Dark. 9/10. part two of the trilogy. My seond best song on dark saga. fast and melodic with sweet riffs to boot. No better song could be a prequel to the best song vere written by iced earth which is........ 10. A Question of Heaven. 10/10. part three of the trilogy.ICED EARTH BEST SONG EVER PERIOD. Many songs come close (melancholy, slave 2 dark,damien coming curse), but this is a fantastic written piece of music. even if you are a non metal fan, this is for you. A song about life and death, hope and fear, heaven and hell. This is a song that should touch your heart, even if it made up of stone. Just for this song, buy this album. you wont regret it.
