Now before I begin, I am not some expert song writer. I can't write lyrics for my life, and I will probably never be able too. However, I do know good lyrics from not so good ones. Iced Earth's the Dark Saga could use a tune up. I have been a fan of heavy metal, and the Spawn comic for some time now. So, when I discovered Iced Earth had an album based on the comic book, I immdeiately rushed to the store. Now overral, I am very impressed with the album. The songwriting is great, and there are plenty of headbangers on here. However, I find some of the lyrics to be a bit cheesy. Especially on " The Violater". Not all of the lyrics are cheesy, however I feel that some are. Who knows, maybe I am wrong. However, I do know many of my friends agree with me. If you are looking for a good thrasher album, buy it. If not, don't. It's as simple as that. I also forgot to mention, the way Barlow and Shcaffer turned the comic book into a spell binding journey of heavy riffs, is just tremndous. Great job guys, Mcfarlane would be happy.
