Also one of the best metal albums I've ever heard. Iced Earth is easily one of my favorite bands ever, and my number 2 favorite current band only beaten by Iron Maiden (they still rock). Anyways, back to the album; the concept behind it is awesome. Betrayal, death, destruction, revenge, darkness, evil, regret, Hell- this album's got it all. The music is also amazing, killer guitar riffs, intense drumming, and damn good vocals. My first IE album was actually Days of Purgatory, so when I heard this album I was a bit thrown off because I was not use to the singer on this album, but it doesn't matter because he is still an excellent vocalist. I would definately vote this album as not only one of the greatest concept albums of all time, but one of the single greatest metal cds ever made as well. All hail Jon Shaffer. Man, this review has turned into a ramble by now, but thats ok cause all you need to know is BUY THIS CD!!!
