WOW! What can I say? I have never heard Iced Earth before this album, and this opus was enough to get me, hook, line & sinker (and I consider myself to have very discriminating musical tastes!).
Anyone who enjoys horror movies (modern and classic) will instantly love this CD as I did!

Tracks worthy of particular mention are 'Dracula', 'The Phantom Opera Ghost', and 'Damien'. Each of these are done in such a remarkable manner, you can't help but get vivid visuals in your head from start to finish (probably cos they were written based on the movies).
All other tracks are excellent in their own right, but these three stand out for me.
This album is as complete as it can get- you have an overall concept, but each song can stand alone... it has all original work, as well as a brilliant cover song (Iron Maiden's 'Transylvania'- the only thing missing was the cover of Judas Priest's 'The Ripper', as it would have complimented the track 'Jack' quite well)... plus a song which doesn't exactly fit the running theme, but still manages to find its place on the CD ('Ghost Of Freedom').

Excellent CD! A must-have for any metal fan of any style!
