OK I am a sick puppy that loves live albums. Yeah I'm a geek that still loves the Kiss Alive I and II albums and the sucker that has bought the forty million Iron Maiden live discs (Live After Death being the true classic). But even from a guy that loves live albums I must say this is one of the best covering the span of Iced Earth's career up to the Something Wicked CD. Jon Schaffer's songwriting and Matt Barlow's vocals combine to produce a live disc with no real week spots. Barlow is truly amazing really refreshing the songs that Iced Earth's previous singers (Adams and Greeley) did a good job on but did not do true justice to. Its too bad that this version of Iced Earth appears over with Barlow leaving the band as the energy of this live disc is pretty amazing from the awesome Burning Times to the aggressive Violate. To me this was the best period in this bands history following the two strongest albums (Dark Saga and Something Wicked)and I cross my fingers that Schaffer will partner with another great singer to bring us the Glorious Burden soon!
