If your memories of Helloween are the Keeper albums, you're in for quite the shock. This album is quite the departure of most of their earlier work, although you can hear the change that emitted from this album in some of the songs in "Better Than Raw." Am I saying this isn't a great album? HELL NO!!! This darker Helloween seems to have new life in it. Gone is the cartoon Savage Pumpkin you remember from "Chameleon," "Master of The Rings," and "Time of The Oath." And the songs come off much darker. Much more spooky. They definitely fit in with the Nuclear Blast power metal bands of today. This is truely state-of-the-art power metal. If you like HammerFall, Dream Evil, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Iced Earth, or Lost Horizon, start your Helloween collection, and see where those bands were influenced. Highlight songs on this album include "Mr. Torture," "All Over The Nations," "Escalation 666," "If I Could Fly," "We Damn The Night," and "The Dark Ride." Any fan of true metal will love this album.
