If I had to use one word to describe The Dark Ride, that would would have to be "Triumphant" -- With the release of The Dark Ride, Helloween has successfully proven not only can they continue to succeed without Kai Hansen, they can do BETTER than they've ever done before.Before The Dark Ride, Helloween was a good band, they had some great songs, especially on the Keeper of the Seven Keys albums, but they had not quite produced the kind of excellent work that truly designates the good from the great. The Dark Ride is that great work. It is fast, it is powerful, and it is an incredible ride. There are many standout tracks on this record, including Mr. Torture, All Over the Nations, If I could Fly, and the title track, but truly the greatest track Helloween has ever put out is most certainly "Salvation" "Salvation" is an epic song, it has an killer riff that instantly sets it apart from every other song ever produced by Helloween or otherwise, and the chorus is truly a beautiful and inspiring testament. Words fail me to describe this song any more than this, save for the fact this song is easily worth the entire cost of the album. Helloween is BACK ladies and gentlemen! Hopefully they'll continue the comeback they've begun with The Dark Ride. Its a tremendous, glorious album.
