I love Helloween primarally for thier ability to create soaring melodies that you find yourself humming all day (Power, Eagle Fly Free, Laudate Dominum)ad infinitum. Therefore I am amazed when some reviewers refer negatively to Weiki's writing/playing, since he is the force behind Helloween's melodic writing style. All Over the Nations is a great example of this, but I seem to be in the minority of fans that think that this is one of the great songs on this album. All in all, I do like the dark tone of this album, but this is definitely not the Helloween of old. The only weak point on the album, in my mind, is Mr. Torture, because it is an incredibly stupid song with a very weak melody. It's no suprise that Weiki & Grapow parted ways after this album, since Grapow was moving in a heavier direction than Helloween. I've heard his new album (Masterplan), and I found it weak & predictable. I'm very much looking forward to "Rabbit Don't Come Easy", & I'm hoping to hear a Helloween that is more fun than depressing.
