If some people would only realize that the eighties sucked and Metal wasn't always an exeption. Some of the worst lyrical crimes ever were committed ( mainly due to the fact that Manowar made their best Albums in the eighties!)I mean come on, this is what the Brothers Grimm would write as lyrics if they knew how to play! "A Little Time" - you've got to be on acid and on a really cheesy trip! It's like listening to the local Kindergarten choir on Sunday. Really, if you can stand listening to this kind of lyrics you are beyond rescue. My honest Opinion. But music is more important than childish behavoir, but it's still two stars. Two and a half, to be precise. Halloween one of many good metal bands to come out of Germany and gained a cult reputation with their debut "Walls of Jericho". Only to go Pop'n'Charts on albums like this. Yes folks, one of the first sellouts in metal - history ( Metallica were close to follow ). Not to forget that guitarist Kai quitted shortly after the two "keeper" album to form a much better band ( Gamma Ray ). In the days of this album, Helloween were surrounded by the Teenie-press and evil-minded business man and NOT by their true fans from "Walls of Jericho", so all you people who call this a cult classic - you believe everything the "True Metal" press makes you believe, don't you? Let someone tell you the truth, who's elder brother was there! Now, as times go by, I realize that this is a good album. Good means in this case: Put it on, say "an o.k. album" and use it as dust collector for the future to come. Sorry guys, but even Bon Jovi have some harder songs than those who are on this record. For real great eighties-cult music listen to Sodom and Kreator, those Bands really delivered the goods and they do it even now! Helloween were a great Band in the beginning but sucked more from album to album. Not to mention that ALL of their records sound ridicolous three months after their official release. Only a few Bands of every decade manage to get over that Problem. For the eighties, it were basically Iron Maiden and (early) Metallica, the nineties were overpacked with great Bands, too many to mention. But back to the album, it is a nostalgical listening experience that makes me hope that the eighties will never come back. If someone says that metal was better in the eighties he is a sad case for the local retirement home, where he can talk of the "good old days". Hate me for it, but someone had to say it!
