Let me start by saying that this was the first Helloween album I bought. After watching the video of 'Halloween' which was MUCH shorter than the album version I thought I would give this band a try. The intro/opening song are great and I always thought would be a good concert opener as well. But when I heard the track 'A Little Time' I was hooked. It is still my favorite Helloween song to this day and shows Kiskes strong vocals at their best. The rest of the album is good as well. 'Twilight Of The Gods' and 'A Tale That Wasn't Right' are good examples of the great song writting of the band.

Now for the actual song 'Halloween'. The song is long but well structured. From the first verse and chorus all the way through the bridge in the song it does not seem to be 13 minutes long as there is not filler solos in there but actual riffs/changes that make the song much better. By the way,if you can ever see/hear the much shorter video version you will find that it is laid out pretty good and features a "regular" structure of a song, that is a verse, chorus, bridge, solo, verse and end. Hard to believe they could make a 13 minute song into 4-5 minutes but it was done.

One final note. In my opinion you would be much better off to start with Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 2 as it is the album that made Helloween "known" and they even had a tour with Anthrax/Exodus for awhile. Add the fact that it's single "I Want Out" got pretty good exposure along with the experimental "Dr Stein" and you will see why it is in MY opinion the best Kiske era Helloween cd you can buy.

Wait,isn't this a Keeper 1 review????????
