One great song, but that's all she wrote

Sorry, but I was expecting more from this album. After reading reviews I thought this album must be something. And the first song didn't let me down. Track 1 (Heeding the call) is great ! Kind of a toned down Manowar tune. Track 2(Legacy of Kings) was pretty good too and then things started going down the drain. Track 3 (Let the Hammer Fall) has got to be one of the lamest songs I've ever heard. And the album never recovers from there on, although the final track, The Fallen One has all the markings of a great song, but it's delivery is weak and uncommital, resulting in a merely ok song.

I do have to note that if you were/are a big fan of Dokken and Accept back in the eighties and were wondering how they would have sounded with a little heavier guitar, this is THE album to buy. I actually got quite nostalgic at times, when listening to this album. But after repeated listening, I found myself starting to hate the songs. They are incredible simple and cliched.

Skip this album, unless you can pick it up cheap, then it's worth it for the first two songs, especially Heeding the Call.
