I think I know the reason many of the reviewers are a little bit dissapointed with the new HammerFall album. Altough I consider it a very good album, somehow some of the spark is missing. The reason is simple: producer.

For the first time, HammerFall worked with Charlie Bauerfeind. THis guy produced literally DOZENS of power metal bands from Europe. So, when HammerFall hired his service, they automatically lost a lot of their original and particularly recognizable sound. Simple as that. That's why we find some signs of pop metal and even glam here...
