This album was the first of many I picked up from Hammerfall. I haven't heard songs like these in years. The album starts off with Riders on The Storm and Hearts on Fire. The backing vocals make you want to sing along. The On the Edge of Honour and Crimson Thunder. Crimson thunder is the best album title song since The number of the beast by Iron Maiden. It continues strongly with the Lore of the Arcane(which I could do without) into Trailblazers. Then into Dreams come true and Angel of Mercy. Dreams is an automatic ballad, and angel of mercy wasn't so great., but the song grows on you. Unforgiving blade is probably one little disappointment, and then In Memoriam starts and almost makes you leap out of your chair and grab you guitar and play. The album ends with Hero's return. Another song that doesn't sound so great, but then grows on you. The bonus track is Detroit Rock City. Nuff said. All in all a great album that goes back to the BETTER side of metal. I'm looking forward to see if they can top this one.
