I was first introduced to Edguy's music through lists of top metal albums here on Amazon.com, where "Theatre of Salvation" was repeated again and again. This is my second Edguy album, and it does not disappoint, although it is wholly different from "Theatre". The overall tone of the album is much darker and heavier than "Theatre," and has a much stronger "true metal" feel than many of the tracks on the opera-like "Theatre". Many of the songs here are mid-tempo paced, yet retain their heaviness, catchy melodies, and awesome choruses. While it's truly tough to choose the "best" tracks on this album, because they are generally all well-done (even the silly "Lavatory Love Machine"), I particularly enjoyed "King of Fools", "The Piper Never Dies", and "Under the Moon". "Down to the Devil" has a great guitar solo as well.In a nutshell, if you enjoy melodic metal (Dio, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, etc.), "Hellfire Club" delivers. The guitar work is great and Tobias Sammett has an amazingly powerful voice in the vein of Bruce Dickinson and Queensryche's Geoff Tate. Recommended!!
