This latest work of the Finnish combo Children of Bodom is absolutely a masterpiece. In comparing with their debut Something Wild, Hatebreeder is more melodic, faster, more technical, 'happier' and with a better production. The metal style of COB is a mixture of speed, death, black (vocals are death/black) and full of synths and fitting guitar solo's. COB is influenced by classical music - Beethoven, Bach - and the music of Yngwie Malmsteen. Actually, it is rather hard to put COB in a certain genre, since their sound is absolutely distinguising and new. This entire album is of outstanding quality, all the 9 songs, while I mostly consider a few tracks of an album real outstanding. Anyway, what you can expect of this CD is fast, technical and energetic metal! Perhaps the best metal CD in my collection.
