This is my absolute favourite band, and this is their best CD. This band can mix so many styles of music and not sound monotonous, it is just amazing. They have a sound that is totally unique and they never put out the same old thing every album. Alexi Laiho is the lord of guitar and songwriting. The songs seldom go over 5 minutes ("Children of Bodom" being the only song that does brake the 5 minute mark). On this Alexi doesn't 'steal' as many licks from composers as he did on "Something Wild." The only flaw on this album is the verse on "Warheart" sounds very similar to the verse of "Hatebreeder." As said before this has amazing guitar solos and keyboards solos, the lyrics are dark and emotional ("Towards Dead End"). I recommend every CD by this band, but let this one be your intro to this amazing metal band.Highlights: "Towards Dead End" and "Silent Night, Bodom Night" Also for fans of COB (Of course if you're a COB fan you're probably already familiar with) Sinergy(Alexi plays lead guitar) and Warmen [Janne's (the keyboardist)side project].
