Without hesitation, I can easily proclaim from the mountain tops that, "Children of Bodom is the finest in the Finnish, and global even, metal genre!." Granted this is my first album of theirs, but having heard a good twelve or so other master pieces, (that's right, not just mere "songs", a word which does not differentiate this band from the rest) it's safe to hold to this proclomation with justified conviction. This is in terms of musicmanship and the over-all effect. There is one flaw; a few of the lyrics irritate that part of me which detests the poetry coming from (manufactured)angst-ridden high school gothic kids. Mind you, these lyrics aren't as bad as cheesy love poetry, so it's not a problem. Buy this album if you appreciate outstanding metal.
