This album is truely something else. In my opinion, Blind Guardian's sound has only improved since Nightfall in Middle-earth. The opening songs of Precious Jerusalem and Battlefield is a strong way to start a record. Along with those two, track 5, The Maiden and the Minstrel Knight slows down the pace with a ballad that isn't wretched to listen too. Actually, it is quite enjoyable. The final track is another version of Harvest of Sorrow in Spanish and also the best yet. But the real reason to buy this album is for the single: And Then There Was Silence. A 14 minute epic that is truely awsome and probably their best song recorded. It's not one to get boring and keeps you interested with the several different sections of varying pace and dynamics. In short, this isn't one that should be missed.
