I'm very confused.I've read dozens of reviews that call this release a rehash of their previous epics with an overdose of noise and a lack of clean singing. One reviewer even said 'this doesn't sound like Blind Guardian' WHAT???!?!?!?!?! I think this album kicks more ass than EVERY SINGLE Blind Guardian release (with the exception of Imaginations from the Other Side - Their best). I LIKE the choir singing and busy sound. Its Heavy Metal after all! And Blind Guardian DOES play like Blind Guardian in this album. You'll hear the same complex songs, unbelievable musicianship and INSANELY catchy and wicked choruses as you have before. The highlights of this album are 'Precious Jerusalem'(the phenomenal opener), 'Battlefield', 'the Soulforged' 'Sadly Sings Destiny' and the epic 'And Then There Was Silence'. Speaking of 'And Then There Was Silence'... YOU WILL LOVE THIS SONG Its 14 minutes of sonic ecstasy with a very long, amazing chorus that will take a long, long time to leave your head (maybe because it's like three choruses in one). Even most album bashers recongize the greatness of this song. This song is what 'Dante's Inferno' is to Iced Earth, and 'the Rime of the Ancient Mariner' is for Iron Maiden. The question is, then, how can a Blind Guardian fan not buy the CD that contains what is clearly their best song ever? The answer is that every Blind Guardian fan should own this. So if you have ever been charmed by a B.G album or just a single, you owe it to both band and yourself to pick this up. Why wait? ....
